Abstract: During 2021 the Just Transition Listening Project of the Labor Network for Sustainability carried out and analyzed over 100 in-depth interviews with workers and community members to learn about their experiences with unjust transitions. Our goals were to: identify the impacts of unjust transitions, regardless of sector ('problem'); learn about the challenges of forging common ground and crafting just transitions or other humane responses ('process'); and identify policies and proposals that can lead to a just transition for all ('pathways'). Based on our analysis we crafted recommendations for policy makers, workers and unions, and community, environmental and environmental justice advocates. In the introduction Jeremy Brecher highlighted some of the key lessons of this project for workers and communities facing unjust transitions and fighting for just transitions.
